Intentional Motherhood
Sometimes being a mom feels like an epic game of "what will keep my kid's attention long enough that I can accomplish this task". Am I right?! It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking of our kids as a distraction from what we really need to do and get done, or even what we want to do to relax. It's also easy to just coast through the day with our list of errands to accomplish and by the end of the day we put the kids to bed and collapse into bed ourselves, wondering what ever happened to our day and kicking ourselves for not listening a little more closely when our little one had something to tell us, rather than brushing it off with a simple "uh-huh". As I stepped into my first summer off with a little one, the Lord impressed on my mind the importance of taking advantage of this time with him and not wasting those precious moments that would soon fade as the school year starts again.
