Happy Birthday, Jordan!
Reading isn't one of Jordan's hobbies, so I'm going to try and keep this short. Today is my big brother's 26th birthday. I've been blessed enough to know him 24 1/2 of those years. Ever since I can remember he's been one of my best friends.
We did everything together from building forts, swinging on our swingset (my favorite was the butterfly... If you don't know what that is, you really missed out), and playing some very realistic versions of "Cowboys and Indians". Those were the good days.
Then mom entered us in a speech class together. We both pretty much hated that together, but we got through it. As a result, I found something I really enjoyed, and Jordan found something he really did not enjoy.
Jordan has been one of the most influential people to teach me the value of hard work. We used to go play back in the woods with our cousins (who had a couple of 4-wheelers) and every evening when we would have to walk back home Jordan would tell me that someday we would have one of our own. He was right; well, half right... We ended up with two. He worked hard for those 4-wheelers. He also started working full time right out of high school. He would be up at the crack of dawn every weekday and did that until he decided to try college. So now he's a full time student and works part time to pay for it.
Jordan is also one of the most generous people I know. He is quick to give and slow to request. Christmas is always a humbling time of year for me when I realize Jordan went way above and beyond what he should have for me, and usually everyone else in the family, too.
One more thing about Jordan; he has a huge heart. He loves the unlovable and the weak. He lives out Christ's command to look after the orphans and widows. He is humble, loving, and courageous.
Happy Birthday, big brother! I love you, miss you tons, and hope you have a really great day!
