Dear Miles (One Month)
Dear Miles,
It's hard to believe you're already over a month old! It's gone so fast for the most part, although at times in the middle of the night it's seemed like forever. But we are so grateful for your little life and so hopeful for your future. We pray faithfully that you will trust Christ at an early age and grow up to love and serve Him with your whole life. That is the only way to be truly satisfied and have purpose in your life, Milan.
Here are a few highlights from your first month on the outside:
-You now weigh over 11 pounds (all muscle, I'm sure)
-We had family pictures taken by cousin Silvia
-So many people showered you/us with gifts and meals and visits (Thank you, everyone!!)
-You've been to youth group every Wednesday night since you were two weeks old
-You've been to church every week since you were one week old
(You usually sleep through those last two, but we won't hold that against you until you're a little older)
-You rolled over from your tummy to your back when you were 1 month and 1 day old
-You smiled at yourself in the mirror for the first time
-You would always rather be moving and the best way to get you to fall asleep is with a walk in the stroller or a car ride. My lactation consultant said that's because I was so active while you were in-utero, so that's what you're used to.
And here are a couple highlights from my perspective:
-No more nightly leg cramps, daily nose bleeds, or consistent heartburn
-So many of my previous fears about being a mom have been alleviated/proven wrong (what good is worrying about what's to come, am I right?!)
-I absolutely understand what it feels like now to love someone so much it hurts
-One of my favorite things to do is look at your sweet little face in the rearview mirror as you stare out the window, or sleep soundly as we drive.
You are an absolute pleasure and joy, Miles. Daddy and I are blessed to be your parents and we will do our best to constantly give you back to the Lord, who is the giver of every good gift.
All our love,
Mama
